    • Coach Sean McDermott said Clay (hamstring)...

Coach Sean McDermott said Clay (hamstring) won't practice Wednesday, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: The fact that Clay still isn't practicing coming out of the Bills' Week 11 bye isn't the most encouraging of signs with regards to his outlook for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Unless Clay is able to fit in some work Thursday or Friday, the Bills will proceed with Jason Croom and Logan Thomas as their primary tight ends in Week 12.

    • Funchess wasn't present for the open...

Funchess wasn't present for the open portion of Wednesday's practice, Bryan Strickland of the Panthers' official site reports.

Analysis: It's uncertain if Funchess' absence is injury-related or simply a matter of maintenance, but the Panthers will provide clarity on the matter later Wednesday, when they release their first Week 12 practice report. Funchess didn't suffer any apparent injuries in Sunday's 20-19 loss to the Lions but endured one of his worst outings of the season, reeling in only two of eight targets for 39 yards. Five of those six missed connections between Funchess and quarterback Cam Newton appeared to be catchable passes, per David Newton of ESPN.com.

    • Chark isn't expected to practice Wednesday...

Chark isn't expected to practice Wednesday due to a quadriceps injury.

Analysis: There had been no previous reports that Chark suffered an injury in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Steelers, during which the rookie nabbed two of five targets for 15 yards while playing 36 of the Jaguars' 69 offensive snaps (52 percent). Meanwhile, Keelan Cole played just 16 snaps (29 percent), indicating that Chark has settled in as the team's No. 3 wideout behind starters Donte Moncrief and Dede Westbrook. In order to maintain his spot in the pecking order Week 12 against the Bills, Chark must prove over the next two days that the quad issue isn't a major hindrance.

    • Green (toe) has a "good chance"...

Green (toe) has a "good chance" of playing Sunday against the Browns after he received positive news during his follow-up visit with foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson earlier this week, a source told Josina Anderson of ESPN.

Analysis: Though Green has missed the Bengals' last two games, he foreshadowed a potential Week 12 return by putting in a pregame workout prior to the team's 24-21 loss to the Ravens last Sunday. With the condition of Green's right toe having apparently improved as anticipated, the wideout seems to be trending in the right direction heading into the upcoming weekend. Before a decision on Green's status versus Cleveland is made, the Bengals will see what the wideout is able to do in practices Wednesday through Friday. Green might need to put in a limited workout or two to have a realistic shot at suiting up this weekend.

    • Scarlett's has received increased snaps over...

Scarlett's has received increased snaps over the last two weeks, including time at inside linebacker, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Analysis: Scarlett's normally an outside linebacker, but Zach Cunningham's knee injury created the opportunity for the special-teams standout to play 64 snaps combined over the last two games. He has five tackles and made his first career interception in a Week 11 win over the Redskins. "I got a lot of confidence from making the play. We had a good rush upfront and coverage behind me and I made the play," said Scarlett, who reacted quickly to the throw and showed nice hands on the catch. Cunningham is questionable for Week 12, the Monday night game against the Titans, but we should see an updated status when Houston releases its first injury report of the week. That will give us our first indication of Scarlett's role for Week 12.
